The central events of the 8th Moscow Academic Economic Forum (MAEF-2026) will take place on May 27−28, 2026, under the theme:
"Priorities of Economic Development and Technological Sovereignty of Russia."MAEF organizers: Free Economic Society of Russia (VEO Russia), Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
The Forum’s objectives are to provide scientific and expert analysis of contemporary transformations, discuss proposals from the expert community, and consolidate efforts to address the economic agenda — including challenges of ensuring sustainable socio-economic development in the short, medium, and long term, as well as achieving Russia’s national development goals.
The Forum’s architecture comprises:- Annual industry and thematic forums;
- The central MAEF events — a main plenary session at the Russian Academy of Sciences (May 27) and plenary conferences at leading universities and research centers across the country (May 28);
- Regional and interregional scientific and practical conferences, as well as youth sections in various constituent entities of the Russian Federation — regional platforms that will be active from April 1 to May 18, 2026.
The Forum will bring together leading scientists and experts from Russia and other countries, representatives of federal legislative and executive authorities of the Russian Federation, regional administrations, representatives of the Russian academic community, business circles, international and Russian public institutions, and young researchers.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta; leading television channels; federal and regional media outlets; and social media.
