On September 19, the Plenary Session of the State Duma discussed the recommendations of the 1st international Moscow Academic Economic Forum, held by the Free Economic Society of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the International Union of Economists on May 15 and 16, 2019.
In particular, the need was discussed for a revised policy focused on the growth of real disposable incomes, restraining which inevitably shrinks the domestic market and thereby discourages investment activity.
Oleg Smolin, Presidium Member of the VEO of Russia and the First Deputy Chair of the Committee on Education and Science of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, suggested that the State Duma's relevant committees consider the conclusions formulated by the academic community as a result of the Forum and develop recommendations for the Government.
